who we are

This is the official website of Hideous Dress, a band based in the South of England. This page explains, in plain language, what data this site does and doesn't handle when you visit.

the one cookie we set

This site sets a single cookie that is strictly necessary for it to function: a session cookie used to keep the band's admin login signed in when we update the site. It does not track visitors, it contains no personal information about you, and it is not used for analytics or advertising. If you make a choice on our cookie banner, that choice is also remembered in a small cookie (cookie_consent) so we don't keep asking you.

optional music players (Spotify & Apple Music)

The music players in the footer are embedded from Spotify and Apple Music. They only load if you choose accept all on our cookie banner. When they load, Spotify and Apple may set their own cookies and process data such as your IP address under their own privacy policies: Spotify Privacy Policy · Apple Privacy Policy. If you choose reject non-essential, these players never load and no third-party cookies are set — you'll see plain links to our music instead. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link in the footer.

server logs

Like almost every website, our hosting provider (IONOS) keeps standard server logs, which include visitor IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. We don't use these logs to identify or profile anyone.

what we don't do

No analytics or tracking scripts. No advertising. No visitor accounts. No newsletter. We never sell, rent, or share any data about visitors, because we barely have any to begin with.

links to other sites

Our pages link out to TikTok, Instagram, Spotify, Apple Music, Buy Me a Coffee, and ticket sellers. Once you leave this site, those services' own privacy policies apply.
